Conflicts of Interest Policy

Trustees have a legal duty to act in the best interests of their charity. If a decision is to be made where a trustee has an invested interest, this represents a conflict of interest. The trustee will be unable to comply with their duty unless they follow certain procedures

A Conflicts of Interest Policy will help your charity to identify, address and record conflicts of interest and avoid trustees making decisions that could be subsequently overturned or could risk the charity’s reputation

The Policy includes a Register of Interests Template which prompts trustees to record any invested interests they might have in connection with the charity
