Reserves Policy

We will ask you to complete our unique Reserves Calculator*, which guides you through the steps required for setting a reserves policy using a risk-based approach. It takes into account all the factors set out in the Charity Commission’s guidance and helps you to work out the amount or range of reserves needed for your charity. We will use the information you provide to create a draft policy for trustee approval that meets the specific needs of your charity. The calculator can be updated as your charity’s financial circumstances change, so you can monitor your charity’s reserves and update your policy at any time.

Review of Governing Document    £350 
We will ask you to complete and return a questionnaire, together with other information and documents that tell us about the way you manage your charity and what it does. Based on the information you provide, we will prepare a report advising you whether your governing document meets your charity’s existing and future needs and highlight any changes you could make.  
   
Review of Financial Controls   £590
We will ask you to complete and return a self-assessment questionnaire together with other information and documents that tell us about the way you manage your charity’s finances. Based on the information you provide, we will prepare a report showing how well you meet best practice standards and highlight any changes or improvements you could make. You will receive our Reserves Calculator and reserves policy template as part of this service.  
   
Governance Review  £950
We will ask you to complete and return a self-assessment questionnaire together with other information and documents that tell us about the way you manage your charity, meet its charitable purposes and measure success. Based on the information you provide, we will prepare a report showing how well you meet best practice standards and highlight any changes or improvements you could make. As part of the Governance Review Service you can choose to receive all or any of our template policies and documents.  
   
 Bespoke Advice & Support £60 per hour 
 Our Advice and Support service will answer any questions you have about setting up or managing your charity within the regulatory framework and best practice guidance. If you experience problems managing your charity, we will advise how you can put things right and, if necessary, correspond with the Charity Commission on your behalf.
